How do we help

Purple Club provides each child with a specially designed learning and teaching platform that is linked to teacher and peer mentors, social services, schools and other relevant agencies.

Many of these children are removed from their homes and then often relocated several times, their education is disrupted, they lose contact with siblings and friends and they feel isolated. 63% of children are taken into care as a result of abuse, either physical or sexual others often as a result of neglect.

They already feel isolated and unwanted, they need a companion, a “voice”. By providing them with a system whereby they are able to communicate, within a protected environment, with chosen teacher and peer mentors and their social support network wherever they happen to be we at Purple Club hope to help them feel included and to offer them a greater chance of success in their lives.

Together with our partners we are able to offer these children a lap top, internet connection (all safely monitored and controlled) a wealth of learning and teaching support all individually designed for each child’s own level and based upon their needs and guided by their mentors. This coupled with the communication with others in similar situations may reduce their feelings of inadequacy and isolation.

Purple Club led by its patron Lord Dear its trustees, made up of leading educationalist and captains of industry, working together with dedicated partners, sponsors and volunteers wishes to improve the outcomes for our “Forgotten Children.”

We believe that charity begins at home and that we as a nation should do more to affect positively the lives of these unfortunate youngsters.
